Worship Leader for Contemporary Worship Services
The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing all aspects of three contemporary worship services. This includes working with a large number of congregational members who serve as vocalists, instrumentalists, and lay worship leaders. The Worship Leader is expected to actively lead worship from a musical and praise perspective.

The Context
St. John’s, an ELCA congregation of 2,500 members with an average worship attendance of 720 per weekend, serves a community (population 125,000) of above average income with stable large businesses and universities. Ministries are experiencing growth under the leadership of two new pastors and financial giving is strong. A building expansion was recently completed and future construction is anticipated to accommodate the growing congregation. The ministries are well served by successful ministry teams and staff of 39 (14 full-time, 25 part-time).

St. John's Lutheran Church is a dynamic ELCA church with over 2000 disciples in Springfield, Il. We are seeking a full-time Director of Youth and Family Ministries who provides leadership, vision, and support in developing programming to help youth, 7th grade through college age, and their families grow in faith and discipleship to Christ by connecting youth and their families to Christ, to each other, and to the world.  This position requires a faith-filled, enthusiastic, nurturing, caring individual with excellent relational skills, a passion for sharing the story of Jesus’ love and, a strong ability to recruit, train, and equip others in the congregation to join in ministry both to and with youth and their families.
